The Third World Philanthropy Forum (WPF) was successfully closed on September 6, 2018, in the city of Shanghai, China. This Forum was co-organized by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), Tsinghua University (THU), the University of Hong Kong (HKU), and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), co-hosted by the China Welfare Institute, and sponsored by China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development (CFFPD).
At the closing ceremony, a series of outcomes for this year's forum were released, including the international talent exchange program, the launch of the WPF Philanthropy Index Research, the preparation for the establishment of Resource Partners Committee of the WPF and the establishment of the Academic Committee of World Philanthropy Forum.

Ngai Sek-Yum Steven, Chairperson of the Department of Social Work at CUHK, Pro. Deng Guosheng, Director of Academic Board of the Institute for Philanthropy Tsinghua University, and Mr. Huang Zhenping from the Institute for Philanthropy Tsinghua University and Social Work Education Center Tsinghua University, jointly published the outcomes of the forum.
Launch Site of the International Talent Training and Exchange Program
|International Talent Training and Exchange Program
On behalf of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), Deng Lan, Deputy Secretary-General of China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development, published the International Talent Training and Exchange Program. The program includes three plans: The first one is the international study and exchange program developed for the leading talents and elites for foundations. The plan is mainly targeted at directors, secretary-generals and senior executives of foundations in China. Through international visits, study, training and exchanges, their transnational organizing abilities, leadership and internationalization capabilities will be built, and many messengers for friendly people-to-people interactions in the welfare cause will be established. The second plan is to participate in the training program for social work talents and leading talents promoted by Tsinghua University, the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and provide international enrollment for the social service leading talent exchange program to play our basic support role. The third is the Blue Dream, which is the Youth Vocational and Technical Innovation Employment Training Program, it is targeted at the poor young people in China and the countries along the Belt and Road routes. Through the training of entrepreneurial skills and vocational skills for employment, they can enhance the development of their self-potential and of entrepreneurial abilities and employment, so that young people can realize the dream of starting their own businesses and becoming front-line technicians.
Pro. Liu Qinglong, Director of Social Work Education Center, Tsinghua University, said that Tsinghua University has always been committed to cultivating leading talents for the development of social services, social governance and social work. Tsinghua University will cooperate with the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong to train masters and doctors which meet the needs of public welfare and social work development as a whole.
Ngai Sek-Yum Steven, Chairperson of the Department of Social Work at CUHK, said that the Chinese University of Hong Kong will work hard to promote cooperation projects with the CPAFFC and Tsinghua University in social management research. The projects will be dedicated to cultivating government officials of the level of director and above, as well as leading talents such as chairmen of foundations and arbitrators, and improving their ability in social management, to meet the mainland's requirement of talents in social management.
|Launch of the World Philanthropy Index Research
Wang Ming, Dean of the Institute for Philanthropy Tsinghua University, announced the launch of the World Philanthropy Index Research (WPI) at the closing ceremony. The World Philanthropy Index Research is based on big data and the Internet and will make full use of technologies and methods available. Tsinghua University, the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong will jointly promote the World's Philanthropy Research and Ranking.
|The Preparation of the Resource Partnership Mechanism of the World Philanthropy Forum
Mr. Huang Zhenping from the Institute for Philanthropy Tsinghua University and Social Work Education Center Tsinghua University announced seven main contents of the preparation of the Resource Partnership Mechanism of the World Philanthropy Forum at the closing ceremony.
First, to welcomed consultants recommendations to the forum. Second, to encourage wide discussion forum partnerships and cooperation. Third, to expect the recommendation of scholars or academic staff. Fourth, to establish a collaborative network of charitable research. The fifth aspect is to undertake sub-forums or parallel forums. The sixth is to support the implementation of relevant outcomes of the forum. The seventh is to invite relevant experts to participate in the speech.
The forum will widely solicit relevant topics and accept relevant partner mechanisms to explore cooperation from September 10 to December 10 this year.
|The Establishment of the WPF Academic Committee
Pro. Deng Guosheng, Director of Academic Board, the Institute for Philanthropy Tsinghua University, announced the establishment of the WPF Academic Committee. Through the establishment of the Academic Committee, the forum will supervise and guarantee the continuous operation of the relevant mechanisms.
